I Can't Stop Laughing!

'Your Holiday Song'
-Indigo Girls

I hace done very well with limiting my social media interactions to certain times of the day and for a certain amount of time.  Today though I have some time to kill before an appointment so I have been deeply catching up on the Twitter.  Every once in a while I see who follows who from the list of people I follow.  I never know if there is another person I will be interested in following and reading tweets from.  I don't know why but I just found this recommendation follow and it has kept me laughing.  I mean we are all free to "like" and "follow" whom ever we wish to, I mean this is free media....  But for some reason this cracks me up!

Officially I can't remember if this is an actual LDS Church created twitter account (LDSNews) but I just love this.  Proof that LDS members love trends and mainstream material.  Oh and that we are also normal.

He he he he he :)

This is How I Feel My Life Sounds

I have a handful of TV shows that I can watch over and over again. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Six Feet Under, among a few others.

I finally picked up the entire series 'Six Feet Under' the other night and have been watching it over. Probably some of the most awkward things happen on this show. As most people close to me know I always have awkward and enjoy a good awkward exchange in my life, which is another reason I feel I relate to the characters in the series.

Anyways I just finished a episode about a missing foot. (Oh and by the way the show is about a family that runs a funeral business.) Here is an exchange of dialogue that had me rolling between the mom Ruth and her two sons David, and Nate about their sister Claire...

Ruth Fisher - "She stole a foot?! From a person?"

David - "Yes. Would it have been better if it was an animals?"

Nate - "A little bit"

Ruth - "You wake up one day and your baby's stolen a foot. Where have I been?"

David - "Loosing $25,000."

Oh it cracks me up! HBO seriously has great TV ;)

What Happened to Kick the Can?

'Take You Away'
-Angus & Julia Stone

Last week while I was in the Target I pa roused through the toy isle.  First off let me explain how I am impressed with the latest and greatest LEGO designs.  Bravo Bravo!!!

However what cracked me up was the below video I shot.  Just a advertising fail for Cars and Target...  It still cracks me up...  There was even a tire from another car that had popped off and was laying on the bottom of the display track.  LOL

If I Were a Bridesmaid

I have not laughed nor cry-laughed at a film in such a long time till I saw 'Bridesmaids.'  And just like Sydnee and I agree we laughed the ENITRE time.  All I can say is, "Well done Kristen Wiig on such a well written film, well acted and great choice of actors."  I may be seeing it again very soon.

I Needed A Good Avataring...

Who would have thought that witnessing a good o'l fashioned avataring would change my dismal cloud to a cloud of light?

Lesson learned:  When you have one of them days just look at your back up photo files, I'm sure there will be a mind lightener in there somewhere :)

PS:  Morgan and Kenley will have the best avatar children ever, I'm just saying.

Suze Orman Beat This!

I love having the power of Google Reader, without it I would be lost and always click click clicking on the web. A friend of mine had a post today on her blog which featured one of my favorite Youtubers, Glozell. Once the video she posted was over I did the fan favorite and clicked another video to watch. Now for those of you who know not of this talented woman named, Glozell, just get up on her YouTube and watch.

With my love for the Gaga I present to you a video worth watching...

I can't breath this video is cracking me up!!!

Do You Have Any Rhinos?

In my the swanky little town of Blackshear, GA resides many dirt roads that twist and turn to hidden trailer parks and sub divisions. I personally thought the best time to tract (door to door knocking) was more exciting after a nice long rainfall. You seemed to find more treasures that way. Case in point this video....

Yeah this was all found right after a nice down pour. What a gem!

Finally Transferred

While on your mission you move around a lot. If' I remember right a transfer is 6 weeks long and once that 6 weeks is up you either stay or move to a new town. If you don't get along with your mission companion at the time it is always great to have a transfer for one of you. While I was in the town of Tifton, GA (one of my most favorite places in the U.S.) I managed to stay there for 6 months. And I loved every bit of it.

Every time around transfers once you find out your leaving you begin your goodbyes and wrapping up teaching in the area. Sister Hebbard in Tifton, GA had a little saying she would say to all transferring missionaries, she just "knew" every time I would get transferred so when the day came I had to record it... (She is also know as the "crazy cat lady down the way")

Hope you enjoyed, more videos to come!

"Boxes, Don't Crowd Me!"

I have given myself till the end of this year to have made my complete decision on my place of residency, and what will happen with the photography business I am trying to run. (Don't worry I'm not stopping the photo industry, so all my clients that read this blog can now take a deep breath as I will still continue to update your family photo's for you)

With this grand decision to relocate finally it has come to my attention that I need to once again go through all my boxes in the closet and under my bed to throw out stuff I WILL NOT NEED. Doing so I have condensed my mission boxes into one like it should have been when I first got home. While going through that box I was reminded of many great times. Some of which I recorded onto video. So for the next few posts I will share with you some of my beloved mission short videos some of which included people who have become great friends and family since then!

Sunday August 1st I will reveal the first video that involves one of my favorite "sleep screaming" sister missionaries. (Don't worry names will be changed to protect the insane.

That's My Tree

Between photo work and part time work at Ruby I haven't been the best at up keep on my personal blog. I say I'm going to post things but then I get forgetful and don't care to back track. However I knew these had to be posted.

If you follow my blog, twitter, or facebook account then you may remember me talking back in February about my trip to see my grandma whom I have not seen in almost 10 years. I loved it. I have more stories to speak of regarding this post but at this time I wanted to post a photo that I found while I was working on work photo's.

That's me.

Then you have Grandma Gawdun who has rocked the most awesome attire. I'm not a huge fashion understanding guy, but my grandma has always been stylish. I would love to go back for a visit with some lady friends and do a photo shoot with some of her clothes from the vintage days. (I'm talking polyester and classy beading that pre dated the Bedazzler) Anyways I love how this photo shows the most randomness (remember I love awkward things and random things). Grandma with the more hip JLo track suit and then my Uncle Ed who wants you to look deep into his eyes. I love that guy. He was super funny and I haven't seen him in probably 15 years so I don't remember him being funny.

Enjoy some Gawdun family tree!

Mountain Dew and Bike Cops

'Heartbreak Warfare'
-John Mayer (I will announce that I normally DO NOT like him. He creeps me out and I have been told on good word by a friend who has met and worked with him that my creepy feeling was true, he is a creepy guy, but this song is great.)

Last week I had the privilege of vacation and attending a mission friends wedding. No I did not shoot his wedding, and I will tell you that I prefer to NOT shoot a friends wedding. They EXPECT a cheaper price and special rights, that totally makes me laugh. Anyways let me take you to the night before the wedding, and yes if any of the attendees read this they may get mad but you should have realized that once I enter a room I am looking for proper blog worthy material. Not one person is free from this occasion :0)

I had been in Salt Lake City the the early part of the week and then had to drive to Logan, UT for the Friday full day wedding events. The wedding just happened to be for an elder that I trained on the mission so it was only once again proper that I make face time and show. So I arranged a place to crash which was also the home of another missionary I trained. I learned Thursday morn that the house I was staying at would also host the bachelor party. I was laughing when I heard this and knew that my blog would be happy. So I get to Logan around 8pm Thursday and the party had already started. Now mind you this is a L.D.S. (Mormon) wedding so all the attendees of this bachelor party were Mormon. I did the "hey how's it going?" catch up and found a seat to land on. There was the chit chat of non sustaining conversation until the steaks were finished. I must say that the steaks were amazing. Potato chips, baked beans, and Mountain Dew flowing was on the menu. I skipped the Mountain Dew as I quit the soda habit a few months ago, but everything else was amazing.

There was also the fire pit to be started and such events did happen. A nice mix of 'Can't Hardly Wait' and 'Night at the Roxbury' soundtracks played along side of other smashingly swell rap and R&B iPod tracks played.

After dinner one of the many 22-23 year olds in attendance got the bright idea to bust out the "Non-Alcoholic" beer to try. Let me just say that there still is a .05% in it! One of them tried to tell me that they just put that on the label in case a drop gets in it. I'm sorry I'm the bartender and I know better, so I stayed away. I was ashamed of my fellow male and Mormon race when they would pretend that they were gonna get so drunk off it. (The GROOM DID NOT PARTAKE, HE WAS SMART). I honestly laughed at the "interpretation of drunkenness," it was all wrong.

After literally 2 minutes of that the idea to start the XBOX Halo games. I more or less watched as I have never played such games. (I know, I know I am a shame to the male race). I was given the controller of one of the players and that turned out bad as I was killed. One day maybe I will play it and learn it... hmm.

Once that got old ( almost 2 hours later) we headed back outside where the music continued to blast (its about 11:30pm now).

I have the video of the next event so I will only preface it. I guess there is a beer drinking game where you tip a can side ways and cut a hole into it. Then after you all gather around you pop the top (which is sideways now) and you chug it. First one done is the winner. Man who seriously comes up with these games?

At this point there was seriously a serious sugar and caffein frenzy going down all around. Someone put on some insane German Techno song and there were white guys dancing around.

Not too long later about 1am after the 3o minute "talk" that a few of the non-married guys gave (that is a whole post in itself) to the groom he thought he should get home seeings how his wedding was at 10am and he had to be at the Logan Temple by 8:45am. Just as soon as he went to leave up walks to cops who obviously were bike cops, (they sported the Village People shorts). I knew it would happen due to all the noise we were creating with the music of choice and sugar high the guys were on. At first I wasn't sure if they were really cops or just friends who were there to 'Punk' groom. The reason why I say such things is some of the random comments. At one point when the words, "so who is the lucky guy" were uttered in a not so normal voice I knew more video footage for the blog would happen. Luckily it turned out to be real cops and they told us to quiet down.

The groom left and I soon headed to bed while there were people still all around the house on the XBOX and of course the guitars that were on hand.

Oh did I forget to mention that there were 2 girls there but only one really stuck around. Yeah, that's what I said. Honestly it was a fun time of random adventures for a more random marriage.

CONGRATS HOLYOAK's. (Here is the photo I tweeted to all the friends and family back in Georgia who also knew the couple.) ((I think I also forgot to mention that the groom and bride both served in the same mission as did I, BUT they were not interested in each other at that time. For their "Hearts were Locked"

It Doesn't Suck While It Cuts

The hazards of working at a restaurant are few and far between, but let me tell you they do exist. Thus brings me to my experience of Saturday.

About 30 minutes before my shift end and with only myself and the bartender on the floor we got busy at Ruby Tuesday. It was fine and dandy, I was able to keep up with my tables and make sure they were happy. Then about 15 minutes I got hit with a table that wouldn't make up their minds along with a party of 6 and two funny old guys who wanted a refill on their Cosmopolitan Martini.

So there I was busily moving around trying to keep up when I noticed that the bartender was just as busy and couldn't get to making my drinks. Being a bartender myself, (a whole other blog about that will follow soon) I jumped behind the bar and got to work on 2 Cosmos. I got them all shaken (not stirred) leaving just the lime wheel to do. We always have a problem keeping sharp knifes to cut fruit in the bar. I don't know where they end up, but they disappear all the time. I blame the bar gnomes on that issue, as before that is best left for another entry. I grab the knife and got to town on the limes. (as a side bar I hate cutting knifes as they are always tough skinned) No sooner did I cut the first one when the lime slipped on the second one causing it to roll and fall creating the knife to slice down on the next best thing...my fingers.
All I could do was start laughing and wince. The bartender just happened to be there after it happened and I told her that she needed to come finish the limes as something came up. I go booking it to the back knowing that I don't have time for this due to a new table and 4 others that are in various stages. Slugger, my boss was in the back and I asked him to get the band aids. There I am rinsing my fingers off, oh yeah it was a two finger injury, and holding them high up with pressure applied.

I wish I would have thought about it as I would have snapped a few shots of the action with the only free hand.

My good friend Emily was the 4 o'clock server and thankfully showed up and took the party of 6. Then the bleeding wouldn't stop and I got some of it on the sink side so Slugger went and cashed out all the tables that were ready to leave. In the end I was able to bandage the fingers and cover the hand up with a glove, yeah I was totally rocking the rubber gloved version of Michael Jackson. I can say I was very concerned that I wouldn't be able to fully give myself to the Rock Band event later that night with two damaged fingers, but we never got to the Rock Band so I was safe. I did manage to go home with a nice, clean, super sanitized left hand and a right hand that smelled of bleach and sanitizer from cleaning the sink up. That was discovered at the Saturday evening adult session of Stake Conference.

Here are a couple pictures I took the following morning as I was changing the bandages. I must have gone deeper than I thought as the light bleeding continued till this morning when I finally ceased band-aid wearing.

After looking at the photo's you might call me a baby and say they are nothing but a mere slice. Let me remind you that this was taken the day after, and I heal rather quickly. Also the pictures don't do justice. The middle finger was way bad as the knife went down and under (like it went under and forward at the same time) the skin pretty deep. Index finger got off with just a graze.

Monday when it came time to work the bar again I was rather reluctant to use the super sharp knife on limes.

Well I must run I have plans for a future injury and have to work out the details.

Cheers!

You Know the Ball Pit at Mc Donalds?

Yup that is the true statement of all things around me! I'm not complaining at all, I tend to attract commotion and chaos. However I don't rely upon it. (Ann you can't say anything about that :-P)

I have a lot going on as mentioned in my past posting. I still haven't heard back if I am to photograph next weekends Sin City Roller Girl bout, but I am still hopeful that all is still set for that. Yeah if I forgot to mention that I was asked to photograph the upcoming bout for the Sin City Roller Girls as one of the normal photographers will be gone that weekend.

Work over at the Ruby has still been laying on the stories of joy and frustrations. I also have a supply of many notes left for me on receipts by customers. All of them are great! I do have one bad one and it makes me laugh. I save all them, good and bad. They all make me laugh anymore. I fully understand that I wont be stuck there longer than needs be, as long as I don't stall and drag my feet. When things get real rough there I go back and think about this amazing little old couple that comes in only when I am working there. They actually ask for my schedule for the next week so they can come when I am there and sit in my section. I just love them. The husband wears the classic flannel shirts with occasional cardigan while the wife wears these outrageously large sun hats that hide her awesomely huge glasses. Seriously they are rocking trendy and should be featured on the Sartorialist blog.

Things with ARG IMAG Photography have been good. I sometimes feel like a marketing hooker.

I sure don'e feel like a hooker though when I get done so that is the plus side and people aren't afraid that I will give them a disease. Although I sometimes wonder if my prices and the same as a real hookers prices. I'll make sure to ask next time I see one in real life though.

I sure hope everyone saw the Betty White SNL episode last week. It was seriously the funniest thing I have seen in a longggg time. All I have to say is "muffins" and, "...and the tiny people wont be orange. They'll be freaky hispanic & chinese dudes!"

And finally the new Betta fish is doing much better than the first one. If I never mentioned it my Betta that I had the name contest for died after a few weeks. It turned out from all my research that he wasn't sick. He was just depressed. Yeah, depressed, that is what I said. With the depression they starve themselves. My new guy eats like a hog. Plus he does tricks for me! (Seriously I did not mean for this posting to have so many hooker references).

I guess that is a sign I must go for now.

(oh and for those that ask my mother, two brothers and sister are doing well)
