Just A Few Hours Left...

So I don't know about any of you out there, but I am ready and willing for this lame election to be over. No I don't think that elections are stupid, heck I support the cause to vote for a effective and smart, also capable, leader. However I noticed a trend in this election time and the previous one in 2004.

THE ARE GETTING TO BE OVER THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am very grateful that I was on my mission during most of this but man alive! The last 2 months and final stretch of this election has been insane and STUPID. Money here, money there, wardrobe spending, lengthy TV SPOTS (yeah that was a waste Mr. Obama, and the wardrobe staff of Palin.) I cant even begin to think of a channel that has not at least one reference to the political season. Heck you can't even watch alot of day time TV (which I was until I got my job) without co-hosts fighting about the candidates. (yeah we all know which little blondie and annoying comedian on The View I am referring to so don't act coy it ain't pretty) I do have to agree with the media on at least one thing... this is probably the most important election we have ever had as a nation. I have to agree to that statement on a different note then they probably do though.
No matter the outcome of this election we are already in a mess due to RETARDED calls on the mind of our current president. (I voted for him so I can say that so deal with it.) Now it wont be easy as lots of Americans think to get out of this bind we are in. We will not be able to leave Iraq, this is not possible at this moment. It would make things a whole lot worse than they are. The economy will not fix itself over night when a new president is chose this day. It will not be magickaly fixed. It WILL take time. The real answer to that is simple...quit spending money like its hott. If you can't afford it DO NOT charge it. Save and wait. As lame as it sounds I have to save money just to get a new cell phone that I desperately need at the moment, but I cant pay for it so I will save and wait. If you cant afford the house payment or car payment DON'T go for it.
I would like to say more but I wont make more mad. Just know that I will be voting today to make a change. I'm glad this day has arrived so please go out and vote if you have the time left and haven't already, its important. Now if I vote for McCaine or Obama that is not up to you, but just know that I voted did you?

This Week

So its been a few days that I graced the net with my words of wisdom. (yes I allow all to mock that statement because I too am laughing at it.)

Life is ever interesting as it goes day to day. I really think the only thing that can be the same is the fact that when we wake up we open our eyes and when we go to sleep we close our eyes. Everything in between there in up to change and adventure. Take for granted job hunts. This last week I met with the assistant manager at Cracker Barrel (sp?) here in St. George. I had a pre-interview and was asked to come back for a followup with the head location guy. Well that interview was postponed after I showed up and they guy had a family emergency. So that has been pushed back to this next week. Oh the drudgery of getting a job sucks so much. Oh well it will make me wacky-er. (but do we need that?)

My sister is up and crazy with the pre 18-year-old-teen-angst that we all have once enjoyed. Let's just say I sometimes wish it was legal to lock someone in the closet and then with my magickal powers I would wave my hand and it would become sound proof. Yup I'm still trying to work on the whole plan. So far it has all failed. I still haven't been able to wave silence.

My little brother in all about the Walker Texas Ranger show stuff. He gets really nervous if it appears that he may miss the episode that night. I always tell him that even tomorrow Chuck Norris will karate chop and kick some guy without breaking a sweat so its ok to miss one episode. Not to mention he is fixing old ladies doors that he threw rocks at. He is insane and fun.

My mom is preparing to leave next week for Texas for some job training with Wells Fargo so she is all crazy like making sure things are done. With her leaving I will be the "house-man." How exciting. Maybe just yet I can practice the magickal closet trick on the siblings. I'll let y'all know .

In the next post I'll get all political and we will discuss the pending election. Let's just say that no matter the outcome we are so gonna be messed up in this country. Oh joy. Let's just jump right into this depression already I say...

De-Masculinization

So this is a long time coming. Granted I am not the source for fashion and manliness but call me crazy this world we live in today is gone Topsy turvey...

After I returned home from my mission I was going through boxes of clothing that I had put away till after my mission. I of course began to wonder why on earth caused me to buy most of the clothing I owned. Then I ran into a few magazines that I used to read in the old days. I am not ashamed to admit that I was a reader of Gentleman's Quarterly (AKA: GQ). I just laughed at how a magazine has the power to tell a person what is the "cool" look for the season. Then I ran into a photo spread of some shirts that just happened to be "in" at that time this particular issue was published. Pink was "in" and so were some other colors. I sat back and thought about my own amount of pink that I currently owned. Then I thought about all the people I have met in the last few years and how often I saw the color pink. Now in my behalf I probably only own the staple pink POLO shirt and two pink ties and that is it. However I have noticed many more amounts on other guys. Pink became a staple to most men shouting to the world that they are secure with who they are and they can be straight and wear their amounts of pink and not feel "less manly" to the world. But is that the way to state how much of a "man" you are?

The color pink has hit an all time high and it is not just in men's fashion. Women too seem to over do the color. I know, I know we all think we can pull it off but lets be honest, not everyone can. Insert the next problem: DE-MASCULINIZATION (I made this word up I think). Really it's not just the color pink, that was the beginning. With the explosion of pink in men's clothing came much more. Men now have a wide array of skin-care lines, men have began to get in touch with their more sensitive side, some watch day-time TV, (not I, yuck!) and probably the big one that might get me shot...alot of guys have become this "stay at home dad." Yes I know it's nice that men spend time with the kids and yes women have rights to, this is not what I am saying. What I am saying is men have seemed to forgotten the divine purpose of our existence. We have become so self involved that we have forgotten that we are to be providers and protectors of thoes around us. Now I dont have a family yet but that is our purpose. What seems to be going around is guys that want to do more "mirror time" and less "fulfill purpose time."

Now I am not sayin to forget about your apperance and be grunge like, (Curt Cobane is dead so lets move on.) All I am saying is we men need to get over the "guy is girly" days and be men. Care less about out the number of rinkles and more about providing.

That is all I am saying.. yah know???

General Conference October 2008

Whelp I attended the semi annual General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints this last weekend and it was a smashing good time! I was able to attend the Saturday 1st session and then the sundfay 2nd session. However I even went to the Priesthood session Saturday night and it was blast. I just love this gospel! I wont lie though I always have a hard time sitting through the Saturday sessions and I nodded off a few times even in the great conference center. My mum and I had balcony seats on Saturday and then Terrace seats on Sunday. I ran into a couple members from the Waycross ward I served my mission in and they switched my balcony seat for a floor seat at the Preisthood session. It was amazing being only 4 rows from President Monson! As my LDS friends know it was a great weekend. I was very blessed to attend, my mum was really excited and it was a nice way to say thanks for her support while I was on my mission. She's the best. I really enjoyed being around that large number of church members that believe the same things. Anyways enjoy the pictures!
