So There I Am....

Yesterday I am unloading stuff for FHE and I walk over to the side of my car where my car antenna resides. I, like most normal people, don't spend much time admiring the beauty of a car antenna. However due to my finding I will probably spend more time doing such...

Let's discuss that someone placed their, what I think to be a tampon applicator, onto my car antenna. One may have been angry but I burst out laughing. The best part was I left it on there meaning to show someone but forgot all about it. Then again today I noticed it. I just want to guess at how many cars noticed it as I, a guy, drove around town with this on my car?

Joy's of Social Media

I guess you could call this the tell all explanation to the Facebook "relationship status" change featured on a certain Andrew Gawdun and Rachel Redman's pages Sunday. First off before the whole story we would both like to thank you for the kind thoughtful words that some of you left in excitement and encouragement. However to those of you that doubt that we could be a couple don't be jealous!

Now for the news. Rachel and I are NOT in a relationship. We are in a friendship but not a dating relationship. Last Friday we were both arriving at a friends wedding reception and our dear former Mission Presidents Wife, Sister Evanson thought we were in a relationship. Thus we move to Sunday morning before church. With the assistance of another Friend "Elissagator" we thought we would play with a few minds from the mission and change our Facebook status to "in a relationship." We intended to only mess with a few minds, however it was such a fun drug reading and seeing how many people Facebook monitor us. Don't take it personal, like I said we loved the positive feedback :-)

So we are NOT dating.

However let me get to the point of why we kept it going a few extra days and were so secretive to our friends and never commented back on your comments. Seriously this just goes to show you how out of control social media has become. It was amazing to see how many commented on changed statuses so quickly. For example there were comments left in less than 5 minutes! How many of us have our updates sent directly to our phones so that when we are away from our mac or pc can be up to date on the news? I am for one not exempt from this but have began the process of de-social-media-atising myself unless it will promote my photo biz or massively important info. There are things that will never go on Facebook or other outlets like such. Rachel and I both agree that we will never post personal information like relationship info you will get the info directly from us when we are in our own perspective relationships if they were to change into anything more than dating.

Another concept that we should think about is how much do we really know our friends anymore? We see pictures and updates but don't personally interact with them as much anymore. Now while we can use social media for positive things we have gotten to far out of hand. Every phone has a built in app for such said sites anymore, not to mention the ones you can download.
Just some food for thought.

I CAN NOT STRESS THAT WE DID NOT INTEND TO HURT ANYONE THAT WAS GENUINELY HAPPY FOR US. WE LOVE YOU GUYS THE MOST!

Once Again I Am Amazed

Before bed tonight I decided to get some photo inspiration and did some searching the net. I headed to one of my favorite photography websites to start my journey and I was quickly inspired. My next feat is to try my luck at time laps photography, but the video below is not a time laps video. It reminded me of one of my favorite Honda commercials (I'll try and find it so I can post it). Either way I have had to re watch a few times just so I can catch all that is going on. Let me just say I still am missing things. It goes so fast and all over... Well enjoy!

(To get the best view of the whole video click on it to play then pause it. After you do that click the mouse on the paused picture. It should take you to their youtube site and there you can watch the video in full glory. You wont regret it)

Cool Huh! I don't think "cool" is the best term for it, you decide.

Dang You Rachel and Bishop Burton! Dang YOU!

'I Want You'
-Fefe Dobson

In April of 2008 I was serving on the downward slope of my mission in Valdosta, GA. I always enjoyed General Conference a heck of a lot more on my mission than I remembered before my mission. Heck I always seemed to stay awake for the whole thing. Maybe that was out of fear that the members would catch me snoozing and think of me as a bad missionary (I had weird issues like that on the mission, which made me super alert to not disappoint the local members.) Well back to the main point...

So there I am being all missionary like and Bishop David H. Burton get's up to give his talk. Now I have always been a fan of his talks for some unknown reason that I have yet to understand. (I'm still trying to figure it out.) He gave a very stirring talk entitled, And Who Is My Neighbor? I was hit hard by the humanitarian service spoken of. I have always been a fan of humanitarian efforts, even though all I have ever done is donations and prayers. The moment I heard that talk I knew that I wanted to go and somehow after the mission do some sort of volunteer work. Heck I even dreamed of being all Doctors Without Borders like. (That was a dream of mine as a kid.) I remembered sending in my weekly email how much I wanted to do such work.

Fast forward to after mission: I came into contact with an organization that is not affiliated with the L.D.S. church but had a high member involvement rate. Heck one of my friends in Reno traveled to Taiwan while I was on my mission to teach for a few months through that program. (International Language Program) I contacted them about my options to assists and volunteer and got super stoked. However due to several factors I had to decided against going through with it. However the moment I heard that talk in Valdosta, GA still stuck with me...

Fast forward to now and few months ago: I still dabbled with the idea to volunteer but had no idea of a great opportunity. That is about the time I was called into FHE and Activities chairmanship (I call it) and so was Rachel Martel.
I don't even remember how it came up (must have been some old root beer involved) but she expressed how she would love to do a volunteer program too and how she had been reading into a few programs. During this time I also was mulling over the option to apply to A.I. of Las Vegas. Rachel soon informs me that she had found a program where they will assist the people of Nepal for about a week or two. This is where this blogs title comes from (look above). I mulled it over again and thought cool. Well I decided to start my school application process and go that way. Well even though I worked on my scholarship this past week over the month of Feb I still thought about that talk once and many times again.

Here I am... A program I can apply to for my photography which will book 3 years of my life, and applying for a 1-2 week long volunteer service in Nepal from late October to early November (10/29/10 - 11/07/10 not including flights). The service would take a few days of class out of me if I do get accepted so what a predicament huh? I know the right path will reveal it self. (I may have to take a leap first). Man Alive why do this to me you friends and leaders of the church and divine inspirationers (my word)?

Oh yeah here is the Nepal service wedsite... SHe (singular humanitarian experience)

Thanks for many more decisions. Heck watch I meet some girl in the next few months. Just my luck. LOL.

PS: I realize and have been told I have too many plans and ideas running in my head and thus the reason why I have not really revealed this with anyone till now. So I appreciate not being told that again.

Where There is a Nuclear Device

'Run This Town'
-Jay Z (feat: Rihanna & Kanye West)

With dealing with the scholarship entry and many other events such as work and F.H.E. directing I have had no time to watch 24. I love this show while I know many of you don't understand it. Well the entire month of February I have missed 24 and God bless Hulu. Currently before I leave for my eye appointment I decided to start catching up so I won't miss an episode (Hulu only displays episodes for a limited time and once it's pulled from the site you can guarantee you will have to wait for reruns or TV on DVD. 24 does not have reruns.)

Anyways it is no shock that I have a not so secret crush on the character Chloe O'Brian, who is played by the witty Mary Lynn Rajskub. I laugh every time she is on scene. The producers and writers of the show must have noticed the show needs some sort of light humor while everything else is so serious, because she is a hoot! So there I am a few moments ago watching a back episode and this dialog involving Chloe arrises between her and this male character...

Chloe, "you're lucky she hasn't reported you to human resources."
Man, "if you weren't so jealous you'd see I was asking a serious question"
Chloe, (spoken with sarcasm) "Oh yeah I'm jealous. Please won't you stare at my a#$ as I walk away."

I'm still laughing! Best line she has ever delivered!!!

Stick It In, Feet Up

As many of you fine (don't deny it your fine maybe not just fine but spicy looking) readers know I had a golden birthday this last weekend. While there are many photo's that I will try and share (just like many other photo's I have yet to post) I would like to share a fascinating gift I received. We call it... Plant Me Pet!

I had honestly never seen such awesome-ness. It was found in this oddity novelty shop that just closed the other day here in St. George. It doubles as a toy and a tomato plant. Heck it even squeaks!!!! So this gave me the perfect idea. My blog has been slacking as of late with fun poignant stories and although I am trying to revamp it to fit my golden year I still need a project. This little toy has given the inspiration. Here it is. I am currently awaiting the right time to plant a tomato plant. I have always wanted to try and grow my own to see if I have a green thumb (and I'm not talking about the most amazing card game which goes by the same name... Green Thumb). With that said I will be creating a supplemental blog that will follow my Plant Me Pet journey. All the way from building the plant box, to eating that glorious tomato mayo sandwich. Who knows what will happen but that will be part of the journey.

I will plant, get it plant? Haha. Anyways I will plant the link to that blog page once I begin. Until then feel free to place your bet's and make a wager as to how long and how successful this little journey will be.

PHOTO ASSISTANCE NEEDED!!!!

****UPDATE****** When it comes to the bride look I will not be messing with the dress. There will be no damage done to it. I only need the look. The make-up applied will only be on the face. As for the groom look I need the guy to be able to look surprised and over the top with it. All details will be given upon contact.

Ok here is the deal I have a scholarship deadline this week and I FINALLY have the concept. This is the chance for me to receive a full year tuition to my desired program at the Art Institute. The scholarship entry is as follows.

I have to tell a story in 8 photos and then include a 1000 word essay that describes the photos tying them together. It stems from the idea that a "photo tells a 1000 words."

SOOOOO..

I need a girl with/or with access to a wedding dress, and a guy who has a suit. The girl needs to not be afraid to have some crazy make-up applied and look hideous. Those are my only two requirements.

I NEED SOME ASSISTANCE ASAP!!!!

Contact me via email, phone, or leave me a comment. I need to fulfill this by Wednesday night, 3/3/10, which will allow me enough time to print and finish the essay. I know this is cutting it close but I only finally came up with the idea today. :) :(
