Swine, Bridals, and Heros

'The Way I Are'
-Timbaland

I'm half way through this week and what a time it has been.  Monday I worked a single shift.  Tuesday I pulled a double but not just any double.  I went in at 10:45am and then was back on work duty at 4:00pm.  They had me close the bar (we came to terms that I would work it one day a week and I am cool with that), this meant that I wouldn't get off till at least 12am.  However we finally left at 12:45am this morning.  The I had to be up at 6:00am since my mother is gone on biz and my little bro needed to be up for the bus and such.  Now let's not forget that I made it to bed at about 3am as I was able to finally sleep then.  I was back at work at 11:15 and got off at 2pm.  However I had the bridal shoot at 5pm.  That went real well.  I am learning the tricks of certain shooting areas.  I have decided that I prefer outdoor work, don't get me wrong it's cool inside but the lighting is not always the best.  Thank all things holy for $250 flashes.  LOL.

I made it to the Elders Quorum job fair/class we are holding.  I've been learning A LOT to better myself and heck I'm even getting rockin awesome tips on my photog biz.  Anyways I got home in time to find a cop at my front door.  No idea why, but my brother was telling her that "this person doesn't live here," when I walked up.  We have been getting all kinds of legal mail for some people that "live here"  since I returned home from the mission back in September.  Turns out that the cop was looking for them.  If you ask me I think she was here to arrest them.  I hope she finds them.  I really do!

Swine, swine, swine.  You know all I got to say is look in the scriptures and you'll see that this was supposed to happen.  I do enjoy how people are all about being scared, of the coughs.  In fact I am gonna be part of the fun if this is still going on in June when I travel back east.  Yes that is right, I Andrew Gawdun am going to rock the surgical mask.  I can't wait!  I may not need it but then again it seems to have become the new and trendy travel must have of the season.

Lastly I have just about finished the 2nd season of Heroes.  I got addicted by Tabitha (coworker who's wedding I shot).  I really enjoy it, however I gotta wait till season 3 is out on DVD to watch it.  Bummer.

Im thinking I am gonna scoot and work on more pic edits.  I have another shoot tomorrow (senior pics) and don't want to get bogged down and backed up!

Location, Location, Location

Tonight before I headed out to the movies with the family I went out to search for some locations for a photo shoot I am doing later this week.  The client is from Salt Lake and recently moved here but wanted to take senior pictures some where different and not so cute and frilly like most senior pics are.  Up in Salt Lake there is a place where they have tons of graffiti and tagging, ironically she was up in Salt Lake this last weekend as was I but it never dawned on me to get ahold of her to take them up there.  Whatever.  So I jumped up in my car and headed out to the local scene of St. George.  I wont lie I was hopeful that I would find a place here that has graffiti and tagging.  To such luck I found none.  This town is just super clean, I swear!  I've even made a few calls to people that may know.  I have found no luck in the call area except I have one more person to speak with.  Anyways I found some random places and here they are...I show them to the client tomorrow to get their input...("need more input, more input!" - who can tell me where that movie line is from?)

This is the outside of a hotel, I'm not sure but they might charge me to use it so I may skip this location, but I like it...

This is by far a runner up in the choice.  Has a lot of potential for fun pics...

Notice to Viewers

So as many of you may find, the below video that I produced was part of is no longer found on the net.  Our Bishop loved the movie and found it to be very funny, however he expressed a concern that the video could get into the wrong hands and hurt us.  I fully understand and agree that Satan is stupid and will use anything he can to get us.  So you wont find 'The Bishops Office' on the web anymore.  Later in the future we may republish it on a separate "invite" only blog where we will also publish future episodes that are in talks to be created.  If you do want to view a copy of it let me know and I will bring it along and share the humor with you and your families, cause let's be honest everyone likes to laugh at a singles ward.

Ok I realize this whole post could have been done in a line or two and I have been running on for a few extra lines.  IN OTHER WORDS... I'm gonna scadaddle.

Be looking for the post to follow this one later this weekend with my adventures to Salt Lake City

"Small Child Mess Cheap Parent Syndrom"

'Half Mast'
-Empire of the Sun

So you know I made a big effort to not think harshly against the place of work and that is working out FANTASTIC.  However I do not mean I wont explain the lame customer experiences that I have and tonight I have lesson for all you out there.

So I may get irritated at the small tips that some "cheap" people leave behind but overall I really am grateful for any kind of tip left.  BUT!!!  There is one situation that I find to be a serious matter to national restaurant security.  I call it, "Small Child Mess Cheap Parent Syndrom, " (SCMCPS)  I have seen many fellow servers fall victim to this outbreak of badness.  Tonight I was the next one.  Here is the situation, A family or group come in and ask for a table for 6+ and amongst them are the whinny, screaming, un-behaved devil children.  That is right DEVIL CHILDREN!  So These two came in and had a teen with them and then 3 children under the age of 7 I would say, along with a infant,  So I do all I can to keep the table happy and bring them all they need.. Seriously as a server you have to keep these tables happy so your other guest don't get irritated and leave a bad tip for you.  (trust me it happens)  Anyways I give them the check and notice the table is a replica to Hurricane Andrew or even Katrina  (I like Andrew as it reminds me of me, LOL).  I come back and they are leaving (meaning they paid in cash) and as I pass one of them they say "sorry" and head out.  Now their check total was $38.  The 15% amount on the bottom of the check said $10 and some change.  You would think they would tip well considering the mess.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAH that is a joke.  I fell victim to SCMCPS.  I didn't even get 15%.  All I was left was $6!  Ok don't get me wrong I am grateful like I said before to what ever I make, but this is heinous actions on the part of the parent.  WE ARE NOT HERE TO LAY DOWN AND LET YOU DEMAND SO MUCH FROM US AND THEN ACT LIKE YOU AINT HAPPY!!! Seriously if you can't afford to appreciate the server and they gave great service than why in the world are you eating out with your children?  WE have a feature at work call Ruby Tue-Go.  Call it in and take it home and CLEAN YOUR OWN DANG MESSES!!!

In conclusion I ask all my people out there that have children to think more about the servers when you go out to eat.  It would have been another thing if the two adults had cleaned up the mess than I would say that is ok on a cheap tip but come on please don't be like these people.  Don't fall victim to attracting...SCMCPS

The Bishops Office

Well here it is...the film that we made a couple weeks ago that got me my "Best Supporting Actor Award."
Watch it and enjoy it, only if you want to. This project took 6 hours to film (we left the church at 12am)
and then an added 8 hours to edit and then 3 more when I got home to clean up some minor bugs. It was worth it!

April Conference Fun

'Human'
-The Killers

Here is some fun times at General Conference up in Salt Lake weekend.  I wont talk to much as the pictures are a hooty, hoot, hoot!

Just some eating going on.

More eating.  What more do Mormons love that Conference?  Eating of course and if you mx the two we are about to just die and go to heaven!

This, besides being way cool, has a funny story.  So I found this in a small door way downtown SLC.  So I went to take a picture.  However after a moment I started to smell something funky.  I looked down and there in the doorway someone had gone pee.  It was fresh!  I took a picture of it on my phone cause it looked like the shape of a persons head.  I'll try and post it on here later.

Older people I could sometimes just eat up, I mean for real!

See what I mean?!

Hey look, it's older people... eating Oh I crack myself up!  Except I think the ones on the far left have been exiled to eat NOTHING!

My brother Lucas was very self entertained with the dirt.  I heard the term,  "get out of them flowers." a BUNCH!

I don't think the protesters were on their game this time.  I mean seriously, could we state the obvious more?

So these shoes were sitting right outside the door to our parking garage.  She must have been twinkled (translated) and them shoes just didn't make the cut!

What can I say that isn't obvious?  These two are from the rockin mission, Leslie and Cory.  I served with both, well not Leslie she was just in Tifton the same time Cory and I were.  (Cory said we was fools for posing like crazies.

It snowed that Friday while we drove in to Salt Lake from down in warm St.George.  Then it rained the next day for conference and was nice and SUNNY for Sunday.
