So amidst all the crazy snow we were having over the last week I managed to have some fun with my little brother while he was sleeping. I mean that is what older siblings are supposed to do. I'm just thankful that I had my camera close and on hand to capture this especially funny moment. Enjoy the movie!

*spoiler alert: The reaction on Lucas's face at the end is worth the whole film...

So Let's See That Family

Don't worry i am not going to grip in this email like past ones. Instead I am going to showcase some pictures of the family...So until I run off and have my own family (prob not for a few moons) I will share with you all the family I am part of right now. One of the brothers...David

My sarcastic Sister Alycia, Mother Joanie in black and Lucas the newly ordained Deacon. Oh don't forget me in the background trying to amke a new fashion statement with the tie "OUTSIDE" the sweater. Ohh Im such a rebel...

My sister and and I decided to be like them lame brain Black Firday shoppers and lined up outside Best Buy at 3:30am this year. I know you can call us idiots. However we were in and out of the store with our purchase in less than 30 minutes once the store opened at 5am. So while others waited in lines because they didn't shop til later that day maybe you are the lame brains. Hmmmmm....

Lucas sure loves his chinese buffet lines. "C'mon boy pile that right up there now!"

Whelp that will be all for now, I would like to admit thought the quality of these pictures is not my best. However in my defence they were all taken with my cell phone camera.

Man I Suck @ This

So updating this blog has become more of a chore than I ever thought. That could be in part to the simple fact I have no home computer and have to travel to the public library and only one out of the two in town will allow access to this website so as you can read in this long winded and run on sentence updating is hard.

Oh well I'm here today!

I would like to discuss a certain trend, (I know what you're thinking... NO more trends! I promise next time will be picture updates in my life.) This time I am going to talk about the laziness we have become that we allow the INTERNET and COMPUTERS to choose our dates and matches for wedded bliss or dating bliss. As you can probably tell I am staunchly against sites such as, match.com, eharmony.com, date.com, even ldssingles.com and any other type of dating site I forgot to mention.

We are some lazy people here nowadays. The age of going out to meet people is long and far behind us for the masses it seems. I don't think I go a day without hearing at least one person (even if it's in passing) talk about how they met someone on the net or a dating service. Why is it that we put so much trust in a compatibility test and machine server to choose dates? Isn't the whole part of dating supposed to be go "out" (notice I never said stay in and go out on the net) and mingle in person to weed out the jerks, free loaders and other heinous people? Well I am here to say that is the only true and capable way to find the best person. Great on them people that have found someone on the net, I don't fully hate the options to meet people. In fact the only people that I excuse to use these sites are the socially retarded and incapable of human emotion. That is not everyone.

I could go out and make up a whole fake profile to meet someone and who will know that it is fake other than myself. So what if you have to put a picture on the sites, you can still fake the personal info. Besides as a friend of mine from Reno said the other day as we spoke on this topic, "why should we pay to find someone when you can go out and mingle and not always have to pay to meet someone?" I also find it very funny that we will put all our trust in money hungry website to find out matches. Can you say LAZY? I sure can and currently am. I love the Internet but again it has corrupted us as a people. WE stay in our houses more and more because we can get it on the net. MAN-ALIVE GO OUT AND HOOK-UP!

Thank you for your time,

(PS. if you are reading this and have met someone because of the net good on you. Don't be angry this is my opinion and have expressed it, you don't have to agree or disagree that's the beauty of speaking and listening.)

So What is That Supposed to Do For You?

You know how there just seems to be a never ending supply of funky trends that just pop up around the town or lands? I am not one to miss these random things that people seem to use to add to their look. For todays topic I would like to disscuss the "stick," or "twig."

I was driving to work today and I was stopped at a street while this woman was crossing the road. I thought to myself how nice that this "woman of age" is out on the streets getting her exercise groe on. I then began to be jonesing for my own running time as I was heading to work and was wishing I could switch with her. In the midst of my mind-set I was caught off guard by this stick/twig in her hand. I had seen this before and never thought to much about it. However here in St. George there are ALOT of walkers and runners so I have noticed it more and more. What is this?

I began to think just what in the world coould this stick possibly do for the walk she was on? Does it help keep her balanced due to a heavier opposite side? Is it maybe a magic stick that tells her where to walk? Oh better yet could it be the kind of stick that beeps when ever you come upon loose change on the street? I was and currently am still baffled. I could discuss the theroies of the "stick/twigs" use but I wont bore there anymore. Instead I will be leading to the concluding science experiment.

So I am convinced that the only way I will know what the use of this object is, is to try it out for myself. In the next coming entries I will report my findings on this mystery of wonder that has caught my eye.

So maybe I am nuts. Ok that would be an understatement cause I know I am crazy so I wont hummor anymore I will just go and tell y'all what happens in the coming weeks.

Wish me luck with the "stick/twig"

Just A Few Hours Left...

So I don't know about any of you out there, but I am ready and willing for this lame election to be over. No I don't think that elections are stupid, heck I support the cause to vote for a effective and smart, also capable, leader. However I noticed a trend in this election time and the previous one in 2004.

THE ARE GETTING TO BE OVER THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am very grateful that I was on my mission during most of this but man alive! The last 2 months and final stretch of this election has been insane and STUPID. Money here, money there, wardrobe spending, lengthy TV SPOTS (yeah that was a waste Mr. Obama, and the wardrobe staff of Palin.) I cant even begin to think of a channel that has not at least one reference to the political season. Heck you can't even watch alot of day time TV (which I was until I got my job) without co-hosts fighting about the candidates. (yeah we all know which little blondie and annoying comedian on The View I am referring to so don't act coy it ain't pretty) I do have to agree with the media on at least one thing... this is probably the most important election we have ever had as a nation. I have to agree to that statement on a different note then they probably do though.
No matter the outcome of this election we are already in a mess due to RETARDED calls on the mind of our current president. (I voted for him so I can say that so deal with it.) Now it wont be easy as lots of Americans think to get out of this bind we are in. We will not be able to leave Iraq, this is not possible at this moment. It would make things a whole lot worse than they are. The economy will not fix itself over night when a new president is chose this day. It will not be magickaly fixed. It WILL take time. The real answer to that is simple...quit spending money like its hott. If you can't afford it DO NOT charge it. Save and wait. As lame as it sounds I have to save money just to get a new cell phone that I desperately need at the moment, but I cant pay for it so I will save and wait. If you cant afford the house payment or car payment DON'T go for it.
I would like to say more but I wont make more mad. Just know that I will be voting today to make a change. I'm glad this day has arrived so please go out and vote if you have the time left and haven't already, its important. Now if I vote for McCaine or Obama that is not up to you, but just know that I voted did you?

This Week

So its been a few days that I graced the net with my words of wisdom. (yes I allow all to mock that statement because I too am laughing at it.)

Life is ever interesting as it goes day to day. I really think the only thing that can be the same is the fact that when we wake up we open our eyes and when we go to sleep we close our eyes. Everything in between there in up to change and adventure. Take for granted job hunts. This last week I met with the assistant manager at Cracker Barrel (sp?) here in St. George. I had a pre-interview and was asked to come back for a followup with the head location guy. Well that interview was postponed after I showed up and they guy had a family emergency. So that has been pushed back to this next week. Oh the drudgery of getting a job sucks so much. Oh well it will make me wacky-er. (but do we need that?)

My sister is up and crazy with the pre 18-year-old-teen-angst that we all have once enjoyed. Let's just say I sometimes wish it was legal to lock someone in the closet and then with my magickal powers I would wave my hand and it would become sound proof. Yup I'm still trying to work on the whole plan. So far it has all failed. I still haven't been able to wave silence.

My little brother in all about the Walker Texas Ranger show stuff. He gets really nervous if it appears that he may miss the episode that night. I always tell him that even tomorrow Chuck Norris will karate chop and kick some guy without breaking a sweat so its ok to miss one episode. Not to mention he is fixing old ladies doors that he threw rocks at. He is insane and fun.

My mom is preparing to leave next week for Texas for some job training with Wells Fargo so she is all crazy like making sure things are done. With her leaving I will be the "house-man." How exciting. Maybe just yet I can practice the magickal closet trick on the siblings. I'll let y'all know .

In the next post I'll get all political and we will discuss the pending election. Let's just say that no matter the outcome we are so gonna be messed up in this country. Oh joy. Let's just jump right into this depression already I say...

De-Masculinization

So this is a long time coming. Granted I am not the source for fashion and manliness but call me crazy this world we live in today is gone Topsy turvey...

After I returned home from my mission I was going through boxes of clothing that I had put away till after my mission. I of course began to wonder why on earth caused me to buy most of the clothing I owned. Then I ran into a few magazines that I used to read in the old days. I am not ashamed to admit that I was a reader of Gentleman's Quarterly (AKA: GQ). I just laughed at how a magazine has the power to tell a person what is the "cool" look for the season. Then I ran into a photo spread of some shirts that just happened to be "in" at that time this particular issue was published. Pink was "in" and so were some other colors. I sat back and thought about my own amount of pink that I currently owned. Then I thought about all the people I have met in the last few years and how often I saw the color pink. Now in my behalf I probably only own the staple pink POLO shirt and two pink ties and that is it. However I have noticed many more amounts on other guys. Pink became a staple to most men shouting to the world that they are secure with who they are and they can be straight and wear their amounts of pink and not feel "less manly" to the world. But is that the way to state how much of a "man" you are?

The color pink has hit an all time high and it is not just in men's fashion. Women too seem to over do the color. I know, I know we all think we can pull it off but lets be honest, not everyone can. Insert the next problem: DE-MASCULINIZATION (I made this word up I think). Really it's not just the color pink, that was the beginning. With the explosion of pink in men's clothing came much more. Men now have a wide array of skin-care lines, men have began to get in touch with their more sensitive side, some watch day-time TV, (not I, yuck!) and probably the big one that might get me shot...alot of guys have become this "stay at home dad." Yes I know it's nice that men spend time with the kids and yes women have rights to, this is not what I am saying. What I am saying is men have seemed to forgotten the divine purpose of our existence. We have become so self involved that we have forgotten that we are to be providers and protectors of thoes around us. Now I dont have a family yet but that is our purpose. What seems to be going around is guys that want to do more "mirror time" and less "fulfill purpose time."

Now I am not sayin to forget about your apperance and be grunge like, (Curt Cobane is dead so lets move on.) All I am saying is we men need to get over the "guy is girly" days and be men. Care less about out the number of rinkles and more about providing.

That is all I am saying.. yah know???

General Conference October 2008

Whelp I attended the semi annual General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints this last weekend and it was a smashing good time! I was able to attend the Saturday 1st session and then the sundfay 2nd session. However I even went to the Priesthood session Saturday night and it was blast. I just love this gospel! I wont lie though I always have a hard time sitting through the Saturday sessions and I nodded off a few times even in the great conference center. My mum and I had balcony seats on Saturday and then Terrace seats on Sunday. I ran into a couple members from the Waycross ward I served my mission in and they switched my balcony seat for a floor seat at the Preisthood session. It was amazing being only 4 rows from President Monson! As my LDS friends know it was a great weekend. I was very blessed to attend, my mum was really excited and it was a nice way to say thanks for her support while I was on my mission. She's the best. I really enjoyed being around that large number of church members that believe the same things. Anyways enjoy the pictures!

What started my laughing...

I think I died Laughing

Nose Bleeds, Broken Cars, and Lost Rings...

I began to wonder if I would have any more adventures that could compare to the hostage, car jacking, and tornado rompings that I enjoyed almost daily in Georgia. Well I am here to inform that yup they have continued! Nothing to crazy yet just alot, and i do mean alot of minor things building up to bigger things I think.

Nose Bleeds:

Since Returning to the drudgery of the desert I have fought the fun fight with dry heat. I wondered on my first day home if I would have to deal with bloody noses and guess what. Not only did I get one but I have had one EVERYDAY since my return. I almost find it amusing. Heck I even now find it to be a sort of art that you cant reproduce when you hover over the sink and water is running. Maybe I should walk around with the camera so I can savor the memories forever. HMMmmmm

Broken Cars:

Today my sister and I were going to take lunch to my mum. We got in the car and I tried to turn it on... NOTHING...All I could get out of it is a attempt at starting, with no show. I mean for reals it just goes... vrrrrrr vrrrrr vruuurrrrrrrrrrr. So after a few moments my sister called our mum and she came home to get her lunch and also let me borrow her car as I had jobs to apply for. The best part was when LDS singer Jessie Clark Funk started belting out a tune on my radio from the CD I let in while the car was tryingt o start. It was so funny. Someone from the ward is going to come check it out later. Man Alive i sure hope iot gets fixed so I can still go to Salt Lake this weekend.

Lost Rings:

Last night I was watching Transformers and noticed somewhere between the bathroom and kitchen I lost the ring. Well it induced a search out for the lost ring. (oh and dont worry your little bottoms you readers, this ring is NOT an engagement ring just my CTR ring that has big history). After a while I got the great idea to take the sink apart down below so that I could look in the pipes. Well just as I began my plumbing adventure around 11pm my nose decided to bleed it up a bit. Joy and adventures around, here here. Anyways the nose stopped and I took the pee trap pipe (think thats what its called) and found nothing. Burn! I still dont know where it is at but it will turn up.

I think this is enough of the adventures you all want for now. Hope alls well today for y'all.

1 Week Down

So Wednesday has made a full week that I have been home and man-alive its been interesting to try and set up a routine. I learned alot of things on my mission that have helped me in life so far and one of them lessons is a thing called...Routine...I never thought it would be so hard to set up a routine but I am here to tell you that it is very much so hard. However it is of much worth to me and my sanity. Among the most important things in life the duty of not being idle. When one is idle then bad things can happen in this messed up world we currently live in.

In what I call my..."Self-Routine-Discovery-Showdown" I have been atempting to run in the mornigns, and yeah that is not going so good I have only done it once and that was today. Not watching too much media is another good thing I am working on. Lets just say in 4 days I have almost completed a complete season of 24. Eeeekk! The most important thing to get in my life is the scripture study time that is needed that I also taught so many people to do. I realize that the devil is a tricky bugger and he dont want no scripture reading but man we have to fight back and do what is right. How much better will our days be when we spend time in the Word before we begin our world day? I can answer that it will be the best thing for me and anyone else.

So i realized that this blog sp far has not theme but dont worry I am working on it, that is also part of my finding who I am thing.. Just hold on and bear with me on this. Maybe next time I will start a theme... Untill then enjoy the family picture I took with family the day after I got home, oh and also this post...

Home is....

Whelp here is home. I am back and with the return comes mixed thoughts and feelings. I am happy to be around family and friends but then again being on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was a rockin awesome great time. My first night was fun but then again the next day was FREAKY! OK, lets be honest things are great, but man the world is super wacky right now and I'm right back in it. I am excited to embark on new adventures and I welcome them openly... I plan on working for the time being and then begin school in January.

Till later
