This next installment is going to be in 2 parts. This first part includes just the stuff from Savannah but not including the items from Tybee Island which is part of Savannah. That will be next.
But Anyways...
We stayed at a quant little hotel in Richmond Hill Thursday night. Friday and Saturday we stayed with some of my favorite members named the Barnes. Sunday we stayed with the Beasley crew. Right off when we got to town Sister Barnes was all about us heading to their house and hanging out, they are so rockin' awesome. Brother Barnes, Sister Barnes, Ryan (their son) and my crew (mom and I) headed out to dinner at a place called Carey Hilliards. Pretty much has AMAZING seafood. One of the best parts of Savannah and in fact the whole coast is the easy access to seafood. Not just any seafood but the FRESH kind. Those of you that have never been close to the coast may not understand what that is but trust me it is great when it's fresh. (All of Fridays activities will be included on the next entry)
Saturday mom and I headed out to the River Walk downtown Savannah. It's ok. Mom had never been there so I showed her around the tourist trap. Then I drove her around the shopping district of Broughton St. Got some cool pics of ally ways as well. Went and saw the Dietz family and can I just tell you how much I love them. They are the best. I called her and the first thing she said was, "Why have you not responded to our letter we mailed you a bit ago?" I simply told her this personal visit was the apology and a MUCH better option than a letter. She agreed. We also managed to track Vickie down and I was much glad to see her. It was actually real good to see her, just got to get her bak on track.
("However don't worry Vickie I still think your the best!")
Sunday was a great day I went to my other favorite ward from the mission, the Pooler Ward. It was a blast. We headed over to the Cawley's home for lunch after church and oh man she still is absolutely the most amazing cook ever! Brother Cawley on the other hand is a hoot and a half, he still loves Hannah Montana and try's to push it off on me. LOL. Which reminds me, Friday we went over to their house and Strobel and Shannon's crazy kid Sariah, who was much smaller while I was there, was all over the place funny. She even for a short while was interested in patting and rubbing my head. Hahaha ALWAYS a good time at the Cawley Home. Enough words now go enjoy the photos. ( On a side note one other favorite family, the Lowther's are not pictured cause I wasn't able to get over there when they were home. Don't worry you guys still rock Brother and Sister Lowther. I just have another reason to get back there sooner!)
I thought this was a clever window display.
The Beasley clan, well the twins Wes and Wyatt were already in bed.
It was trying to squish me!
It almost had mom
So I took this photo back when I was on my mission in the late part of 07', now look below...
I seriously think this is the BEST Japanese place to eat at. For those of you in the Savannah/Pooler area here is how to get there... Go down Chatham Parkway. It is found in the shopping center next to the Lexus dealership. Go check them out if your in the town visiting or want great food. PS: Their Ginger dressing is the best I have ever had.
This is by far the funniest couple I know. Brother and Sister Dietz. (Diet with a 'Z'). Oh the stories I could tell you. All I will say is "I'm trying to keep her away from the Kitty Too Too." Bweahahahahahha
Tubbys (top floor) and Hueys (bottom floor). Hueys makes this pasty called the, Begnets (sounds like Ben-yeahs) with praline sauce.

What do ya know!?!? Charlie and I stayed right across from Forsyth Park last week at The Mansion. It was fabulous!!! And from the previous post, I was laughing so hard...the Jewells are Charlie's kin folk!
That cow that was supposed to be by the mail box- yeah I'm pretty sure it's now in Richmond Hill at the flea market. Glad you had fun and that you brought your mom back safe, and hopefully sane. I know what the South can do to people. Just look at me.
So sorry we didn't get to meet with you. We wanted to, but things were so crazy. Mark actually left for Portugal Monday and I am in Utah now. I will probably be here for a month or so. Looks like you are having an awesome trip. Don't you want to move back to the south???
By the way, Ronnies also has the best onion rings ever too!
Dude awsome story and pics, and by the way it was a huge hippopotamus(can't speell that word) that was by that Mailbox, it was purple it was the most random thing ever, i even witnessed it, too bad they let their swagger go.
