Post Grad

Really it should be called 'Post Actually Clever.'

*Before I begin understand that I was entertained and had nothing else to do so I did go with some friends to see this. Remember as well that this is MY personal opinion.

This movie was a disaster! I felt like I was watching a train wreck that will never be cleaned up fully! The basic plot is supposed to be about a girl who graduates college and can't find a job like she had planned. Now yes it does start out that way with the included cliche' love-sick-following-like a-helpless-puppy-guy-friend. But wait it gets worse. Next you have the antagonist relationship character who comes between these two (one of the dumbest story line additions), a trying to hard to be funny family (although there are some classic funny parts, like the rotating ring display turned medicine shelf.) As far as story line goes you have WAY WAY WAYYYYY too much going on and it seriously becomes a train wreck that never FULLY comes together. Even though they try and wrap up the sub-story lines I still felt like something was missing. It had potential of a great script but I would have to say that the writers got to carried away with adding things into it to make it better, or in this case maybe they wanted a dive of a movie script.

In the way of acting, Michael Keaton made an ok comeback to fill. However he is a long way from where he was when he was actually considered a respectable actor. Carol Burnete, seriously she is always funny in her work.

I would like to discuss our main character in her own paragraph. Alexis Bledel. You had a great start in Hollywood. From the two episodes I saw of the show 'Gilmore Girls' that she was on I would think she would have a great career ahead of her. Next she does the action/comic book movie 'Sin City' and again a very good piece of work, amazingly acted and such. I never saw the movies she did about the 'ones size fits all jeans' so I can't speak on it. But seriously she too must be suffering from the recession, cause this movie was not a great thing for her career. Bad choice in my book (remember my book is MY opinion). I always find it interesting to see how young Hollywood that begins big time on TV transitions to movies. Whelp she started out great but dived on the shallow end of the pool with this film.

Granted when you go to a movie with this plot you don't expect anything grand, but you wont even get a grand time by seeing this one. I would say that watching the reality show on Bravo, 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' is more fulfilling than this, and that is not saying a whole lot.

In my book of 5 Stars this one get's a 2, maybe a 2.5

I saw this Tuesday night, and thought it was so stupid. I was going to do a post on it- if I do, I promise I'm not copying you!

Thank you for informing the public on this disaster. I'm sad I did not read your post pre spending $8.50. Also, it's in the video store, but never ever rent "The Great Buck Howard". It was worse than Post Grad!
