What Wisdom Do You Have?

Church was great today and love when we have 5th Sunday lessons. Bishop does a great job when he teaches them.

I get home from church and pick up the newspaper. What does it say up on the top of the front page? I'll just tell you so you don't have to guess. David Archuleta has a memoir coming out June 1st (this Tuesday). As I write this I am trying so hard not to laugh so that these words come out clear. Ok seriously what a joke. The newspaper, Salt Lake Tribune, gives the tag line to the article, and yes this is a direct quote, "...a memoir that serves as a motivational self-help book for fans." I will allow you to collect yourself as you probably are rolling on the floor at this very moment in hysteria. (Long pause.............)

David is only 19, and has only been singing pro since 2008 after her won American Idol. Really what does he have in terms of life experience to offer me, a 26 year old, or those that are older than me? I could probably learn more about the book called, All ABout Scabs, by Genichiro Yagyu. (I learned a ton from the book, The Gas We Pass, which I highly recommend.)

So David knows how it is to be on American Idol as a teen Mormon, and he knows how it is to play concerts in Utah to thousands of screaming 10 year old girls, but what about me? Oh wait he could teach me about proper use of... no he could teach me how to... man this is hard, he has nothing that I can think of. I mean I don't recall the last time 10-12 year old girls came chasing after me. Unless this kid has tricks and trades of being in the Activity/FHE Committee chair, gathering donations for humanitarian relief, or best ways to break into war photography... I doubt I'll read it. I also have a hard time of receiving self-help from people that have have personal shoppers and can be found on the top of birthday cakes. (Yeah I think it would be awkward to be eating his left eye. Only a Dr has permission to see the inside of me, not David).

As you can tell I am making a joke of this whole thing. Good for David, but seriously, maybe you should live grown-up life some more and reach mid 20's. After then maybe we can relate (laughing now). I don't like his music so now I am lying to my readers by saying I would read it if he was older. I must not lie, I never could read a book based on him.

I must leave for now. I have to meet with a publisher about my memoir as Director of the C.I.A.

YoU Ain't Kidding!

Hold the phone. I just learned Macy Grey, oh how I love her, has a new album out June, 22. I'm so excited and I seriously just can't hide it!

I noticed that a large amount of the blogs I follow have done a great deal of updating this week. And then there is mine and it has been a touch and go for some time now. I am pretty sure that I will have no reason other than clients that will keep me from updating this. The big blog-update-blockers would had to have been LOST and 24. Both of which ended in a twenty-four hour period.

LOST- AMAZING! There are many theories out there on the ending and it makes me laugh. It was pretty self answering and yet people still try and read into it. Like I told a friend on their blog, "Unless your name is JJ Abrams or one of the other head guys I won't believe your explanation on the ending." Each person has their own idea of the ending and not one is better than the other. The series was just the best. Well written and such. Even better it was announced that the complete series will be on a complete DVD/BluRay box set. EVEN BETTER than that it will retail on Amazon for $148.99! Yup I've already began coin collecting for this.

24- Jack was a great guy! I think we need a couple of him in our high profiled government fields. At least we know we wouldn't be getting ripped off by our leaders. He would always do the right even if it meant bending a few rules that dumb people put in so they could get away with corruption. Needless to say the series ender of 24 was fantastic. Chloe didn't let me down and neither did Jack. Oh and big news because I was Tweeting about the show as it was happening I was linked on a twitter trend grid. For those that don't tweet I can't even explain how awesome that was and again I can't even begin to explain what that is. You just had to be there.

Last Saturday I was asked to do photography at a Fabulous Sin City Roller Girls bout (game). It was Rockin AWESOME! I was the more close up back stage photog. Check later on my photography page as I will be posting some of them later tonight. I just loved the fact that I was asked to help with it!

Oh dang I gotta run, we are cleaning the church and helping a sister move in my singles ward. Till later.

Nepal or Bust! (I Don't Want to Bust)

http://www.savenepal2010.myevent.com

I had a conversation with a friend who was turning 28 the same day I was turning 26. They said that 26 was a great year but 27 was not so great. Now I have no idea how true that is in regards to 27 but I do know that 26 has and still is turning out to be an amazing year!

Case in Point.

Later this year from October 28th till November 8th I will be in the country of Nepal on humanitarian relief effort. I have teamed up with Singular Humanitarian Experience (SHe) who has partnered with CHOICE Humanitarian to help slow the poverty issue around our world. For one week I will work closely with other volunteers to complete a number of projects ranging from a school house being built, small medical facility being constructed and helping promote education. I have always wanted to support and work in a cause like this and I am more than excited to be part of this expedition.

However there is the catch of monetary totals. I am responsible for providing air fair and the amount for the program. The complete total comes to $3,000.00. In the next 5 months I need to raise that amount. I am working closely with two other local ward members who are also going, in regards to local business donations and fundraising events. But that is not going to help all the way. That is why I come to you my readers and friends. In the next several weeks many of you may receive a personal letter from me asking for a donation of sorts. I do ask that you help out not me but your "global community." Besides letter writing and personal presentations to businesses I have created a website that makes it super easy to donate directly to me. Please visit the link above or click the same one here:

By following that link you can learn more about my cause and be part of it as well. So please take the time and donate.

Oh Chloe *sigh*

Yup I'm still behind in this, the final season ever of 24. Needless to say I love Hulu still and just finished another old episode. I have to catch up as the ender is on Monday (May 24, 2010).

Chloe is officially Director of CTU and has shown great ability to lead and run things. Well here is the President of the United States standing in front of her giving orders and instead of a firm yes response Chloe gives a classic Chloe line.

President, "Is that clear Mrs. O'Brian?"
Chloe, "I guess."

I love love that character!

(and after you read this go on over to this link and read my first Chloe post from March)

You Know the Ball Pit at Mc Donalds?

Yup that is the true statement of all things around me! I'm not complaining at all, I tend to attract commotion and chaos. However I don't rely upon it. (Ann you can't say anything about that :-P)

I have a lot going on as mentioned in my past posting. I still haven't heard back if I am to photograph next weekends Sin City Roller Girl bout, but I am still hopeful that all is still set for that. Yeah if I forgot to mention that I was asked to photograph the upcoming bout for the Sin City Roller Girls as one of the normal photographers will be gone that weekend.

Work over at the Ruby has still been laying on the stories of joy and frustrations. I also have a supply of many notes left for me on receipts by customers. All of them are great! I do have one bad one and it makes me laugh. I save all them, good and bad. They all make me laugh anymore. I fully understand that I wont be stuck there longer than needs be, as long as I don't stall and drag my feet. When things get real rough there I go back and think about this amazing little old couple that comes in only when I am working there. They actually ask for my schedule for the next week so they can come when I am there and sit in my section. I just love them. The husband wears the classic flannel shirts with occasional cardigan while the wife wears these outrageously large sun hats that hide her awesomely huge glasses. Seriously they are rocking trendy and should be featured on the Sartorialist blog.

Things with ARG IMAG Photography have been good. I sometimes feel like a marketing hooker.

I sure don'e feel like a hooker though when I get done so that is the plus side and people aren't afraid that I will give them a disease. Although I sometimes wonder if my prices and the same as a real hookers prices. I'll make sure to ask next time I see one in real life though.

I sure hope everyone saw the Betty White SNL episode last week. It was seriously the funniest thing I have seen in a longggg time. All I have to say is "muffins" and, "...and the tiny people wont be orange. They'll be freaky hispanic & chinese dudes!"

And finally the new Betta fish is doing much better than the first one. If I never mentioned it my Betta that I had the name contest for died after a few weeks. It turned out from all my research that he wasn't sick. He was just depressed. Yeah, depressed, that is what I said. With the depression they starve themselves. My new guy eats like a hog. Plus he does tricks for me! (Seriously I did not mean for this posting to have so many hooker references).

I guess that is a sign I must go for now.

(oh and for those that ask my mother, two brothers and sister are doing well)

Bzzz Buzzy

*I did not proof this posting after it was completed. I wrote this over a few days so there might be some craze missing things. But I tried to keep it understandable.

Sit back and get ready for some scrolling action as you read up on the insane events I have been up to.

First off Motley Chromatic the 3rd died. :-( He got ill, and after doing a little reading and net research I found out that he was depressed and starved him self. Your probably saying yeah right. However I swear to you that Betta's get depressed if they go through stress. They also are very demanding little fish. I think it's little man syndrome but I wont tell them that to their gills, they might get depressed and show you. (really sick way to prove a point, suicide). I did buy another one the other day and he is out of control active. I would swear he was in training to do a Iron Fish triathlon.

Speaking of Ironman triathlon...

This last weekend St. George held/sponsored their first Ironman event. The city was set up with a 5 year contract. It was super exciting. I remember being introduced to the whole Ironman world when as a young boy we were watching Baywatch (yes it's true the family would watch that on Saturdays and Roseanne on Tuesdays, so what) and this one story was set around an Ironman. However it is much more exciting in real life. I volunteered at one of the bike stations. The area I was at had a controlled pilot car that other vehicles could follow. At one point two cars completely cut off the athletes in an attempt to turn on the road I worked. Well let's just say I still wouldn't let them through and they had to wait a bit. Most vehicles were nice and allowed me to direct them safely around the athletes. But man alive, rich, older, people sure think they run the place. (The street I was working was one of the entrances to a wealthier community.) I also had a guy that came to watch tell me I wasn't an official volunteer if I didn't have my shirt or badge to say so. Eventually my team captain Rachel showed and gave me my shirt but I can't believe how that guy was. There were several other things he did and said to me that were rude but we wont worry. Needless to say Ironman was AWESOME!! There was one guy who broke his collar bone on the bike area but still finished the WHOLE event. I managed to be at the finish line when he finally came through. Two other guys walked the rest of it with him. That's 26.2 miles walked!!! Inspiring.

So this is where I make my prediction and hope. I am giving myself two years to be ready for an Ironman. That is right, I want to compete in the 2012 St. George Ironman. I'll keep you posted along the way.

Now you may ask why not get ready for next year. Simple there is a high $$ entry fee and with me going to Nepal in late Oct/early Nov I can't afford both. Yup that is right!!!

I AM GOING TO NEPAL on a service trip!!! I have noticed on my facebook it appears that the general thought is I will be gone a month or more. I will actually only be gone a total of 2 weeks with the travel times. Not long at all but we will do great things there. The whole purpose of this trip is service and helping in the cure of poverty. Nepal is a very poverish country about no bigger than Illinois, but population wise I would guess Texas in one little country. I am super exited!! I begin fundraising now and all the money I raise is tax deductible. Yup I will be hitting up all my readers and many more for donations! (more on that at the start of the week.)

Along with Ironman I also took part in a 8hour photography workshop held by local destination wedding photographer Kevin Hulett. Yeah he is the guy I work with once a week in his office (I freakn love working with him, and his wife and him are so supportive of my photography it is so bodacious). The workshop consisted of great round table style discussion where he gave information but we were all free to talk and ask anything needed. It climaxed with a live model shoot. The models rocked it and were a blast to work with. In fact two of the five want to work with me in the near future! Yeah it sounds like bragging but deal with it I am stoked that people want to do another model shoot with me. Sometimes you never know if your product it actually great. Go here to see some of the photo's from that day... TEP X class. (True Emotion Photography 10 class).

As of this moment I think you are all caught up. I have MUCH more to inform and relay in regards to the Nepal fundraising and trip so please be aware of the poverty and community help that I will be part of and feel free to donate to help get me there.

-Gawdun

P.S. I have some photos in regards to Ironman to post but it is late and I don't want this post to get longer so please check back very soon for photo's.

I'm Sure of It

I have a huge amount to catch everybody up on however I am trying to finish some clients photo's and took a small minute to be distracted. (Not that hard for me.)

Either way I frequent this photo tips/news blog and sometimes his posts some of the most rock'n awesome things ever. This is the best most bodacious thing I have ever seen on his site. You're going to die. Watch and enjoy....

I wont lie when I tell you that the whole time I was saying, "I hope he nails at least one in the mouth!" I was practically shouting it here at the house all alone. OH man I need to watch it again! And the people hugging! Seriously I can't stop talking about this video to myself. I better get back to work now. Enough distraction of awesome proportions!
